Cocoa and Celebrations: How to develop a sustainable supply chain

Our 21st March roundtable heard Sarah Schaefer, Global Sustainability Director at Mars Chocolate introduce the subject 'How companies can develop a sustainable supply chains'.

Sarah set the scene by explaining the context, challenges, opportunities and strategies for driving change on the sustainable supply of cocoa at Mars. This provided a fascinating backdrop for a wide-ranging discussion that explored the role of (amongst other things) Certification, Collaboration, Customers and Commitment as strategies for helping drive change at scale.

Although being drawn from across the construction, energy, transport and tourism sectors, the diverse group of business leaders around the table (including EDF Energy, Wates Group, HS2 Ltd and TUI) shared common challenges and a common determination to drive progress, with all in attendance having valuable insights and experiences to share.

And that’s definitely a cause for celebration.
